Just out of curiousity, has anyone had success with the ferret "clothing" that Marshall sells?
I enjoy taking my ferts outside with me (always held, never on leashes), and wonder if I could use the sweaters during the winter months. It gets pretty cold here in Nebraska, and I don't want to risk them getting ill, but they enjoy taking "walks" with me so much.
So has anyone else tried using these on ferrets? If so, did they like them, or did they try to get out of them right away?

Ok, so I decided to try it out, just out of curiousity. I got a bomber jacket and a leather biker jacket online (can't remember where, but they were half price at the time).

Tanuki (the male) loves his biker jacket. He waits for me to put it on, then prances around very proud of it. He also gets grumpy when it's time to take it off...

Kawaii, on the other hand, hates it. I try to put it on and she goes limp! Then, if I am successful at getting it on, she immediately goes into an alligator roll until she is so twisted up in it that I take it off. So she doesn't wear it anymore. []

I haven't tried to put my fuzzies into clothes either. I think clothes are for humans. IF it's for weather purposes raise the heat and don't take them out in the cold[]You can tell if they can't tolerate a cold weather...and it's kinda risky too...

But I wanted to comment that these outfits are soooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!! It is just against my??? beliefs? values call it what you want to put my pet on something that it doesn't really need. And by the way.. are these clothes really warm for a cold weather? Since you are not placing them down on a leash wouldn't a blanket be more effective.. or one of those fleece napsacks? []

I think I might try sewing jackets for my ferrets.... anyone else worried about the cold might want to do the same thing. I mean, stores charge way too much for those kind of things.

All you would have to do is buy some velcro and some arctic fleece. Cut the fabric so the straps go around the front and back of the forearms, just like a harness does. If you want a waterproof coat, sew waterproof material on the outside.

Sounds like a good idea in theory, but I bet those dooks will find their way out of them! lol!
