Hi everyone! Well, it looks like we're probably getting a fuzzie addition to our menagerie soon. [ ] His name is Echo, he's a champagne pretty boy, no way of knowing his age (hopefully the vet will be able to help us there), and, the big catch, he's blind. Now we have KiKi, who's deaf, but obviously this is a whole different ball of wax. Can anybody who has, or has had in the past, blind ferrets give me some tips on things I'll need to watch out for with him? I know KiKi will get along with him (though watching them interact will be interesting until they learn each others shortcomings [ ]), but Kuma will probably take some time to adjust to him. Anyway, general tips for handling his blindness, as well as the best way to introduce him to our babies would be greatly GREATLY appreciated. Thanks so much! [ ]
Gotta go wrangle a Kuma (and a KiKi)!

| For the cage layout, make sure there are plenty of hammocks and cubes in the event you have a multi-level cage. This way if he miss navigates the ramps. Once the cage is set up, do not change the layout as he will memorize where everything is. For play time make sure there are clear paths between the toys and if possible cushion wall corners. This can help the bumps. Normally, once he gets used to his play area, you won't be able to tell he is blind. Make sure he has a lot of litter boxes in the corner. Love and patience is the key.
