Well I am puzzled! My oldest ferret Sox has recently been eating his toy socks. They love to stash them so I tie knots in old socks and give them to the ferrets to hide, as I am sure many ferret owners do. When he comes out to play he will sit and chew them at the knot until they are wet and pulled apart, I caught him in the act today again. I am not sure if he is actually eating them or just destroying them but I thought that this is a strange behavior. Anyone else had this problem? I don't know what to think.

Thanks,
Ashley

It is not unusual for ferrets to "destroy" things.  It's all fun and games to them.  Sounds like he doesn't want that knot there!  Try giving him a sock without a knot.  It is possible he may be digesting some fibers that could lead to a blockage requiring surgery, I can't be sure not being there.  Naturals fibers are supposed to be digestable, polyester, rayon, and such are not.  It's your call.
