| Hello! I'm new here, and I'm considering a ferret. I own lots of animals and are able to handle a bite. I've read up on ferrets and they sound like great pets. I've been able to play with some often. My only concern is that I have parrots. If I had a ferret, it would have a lock on its cage and would be highly supervised when out. I've read that some ferrets have very little hunting instinct. Is this true? I'd be very unhappy if the ferret decieded to get into my bird's cage and eat her...

Yep. Ferrets are hunters and probably will be tempted by a parrrot. If you keep the parrot in a room the ferret is not allowed in and make sure the fert can't squeeze under the door.

Yup. Ferrets will kill, yes kill, your parrot if they can. They have very strong hunting instincts.
If you do get a ferret, please make sure you keep your parrot in the cage while the ferret is out {Make sure the parrot is on a very high table} so that their is a MUCH smaller chance of your parrot getting eaten. If fact, I doubt your ferret will even care when it is in the cage. And when the ferret is in the cage, you can take your parrot out and play with it.
Hope I helped!
