Link to Memorials from Home Page?

Hi! I was wondering how to navigate to the Memorials page from the main Home Page? So far the only way I can find it is to type "memorial" in the search box. That's working fine, but I was wondering if there is another way.

I have been involved with on line forums for many years and the last five years or so have been with small animal[Ferret] forums, i have been a mod at a few and now i am the administrator of my own. I have learned a lot of do's and dont's with forums to make them more active and user friendly.

I find this whole site very hard to navigate to find what i am looking for and way to many ad's and pictures. I also see from the lack of responses from the staff to the members questions is a rare occurrence. I have pretty much read most of the small animal forums on this site and sometimes days or weeks go by before a members question is answered and when they are it's by another new member that only made a few posts then disappears from the board.

I am not trying to bash this forum or rock the boat in anyway i am just trying to give my input on how to make this site better and more active. I have learned that the K.I.S.S [Keep it simple stupid] method is one of the best ways to keep a site active and user friendly. Most people who use forums are first time pet owners and are looking for information on the husbandry of them and not use to the online experience when it comes to pet sites.

When they find a site like this one they go wow it looks great and then they try to find what they are looking for or ask a question and have a hard time finding the answers or their question goes un answered they give up and leave. This is no way to keep your members happy and active and this will show your sponsors that their ad money could be better spent elsewhere.

I know since ferret magizine has joined this site they are hoping for a boost in online members since they are no longer printing the magazine. I know ferret people want answers to their questions in a timely maner and if they dont get them they will look elsewhere for them. This is just my 2 cents worth of input on the overall site.

Difficulties with forum

I was wondering if anyone else was having difficulties with the forum. I haven't been able to use the search function in the last few days. I also get garbled messeges when I load the page. Sometimes it takes me a few tries to sign in too. Am I the only one?[?]

Hello Everyone -

This is just a head's up that I plan on having the Message Board Topics reorganized sometime today or tomorrow (at the latest.)

I've asked to have all of the posts that are on the forum right now to be put in an Archived Posts Topic so that we dont' lose any of the valuable information that might be in them.

Everyone's usernames and passwords should not be affected.

I need your input

Hello everyone,

I would like to try and reorganize the topics on the forum and I wanted to know what kind of topics you think are important and what you think should be added.

For example, I would like to add a forum on housing, play time, miscellaneous and Pet loss support.

What are your thoughts. What topics do you think would help make this forum better?

Cant see peoples Profiles

I was fixing up my profile info and wanted to look at what the profile pages looked like. When I tried to click my own name, and anyone elses for that matter, I was brought to a red error box saying that I dont have permission to view the pages and that I had to contact an Admin to get it... So, I emailed the address this forum gave me for techincal help and I got a Failure to Deliver email back from the forums.

Anyone else having this problem? Or do they not let brand new people look at the profiles?

Information on Technical Problems

Hi everyone,

The last week we have been experiencing several technical glitches with our message board software. This has been things such as date/time stamp inconsistencies, posts showing up in random order and various error messages.

Please know that we are working to fix the problem behind the scenes, but due to the complexity of the problem, it may take several days to repair.

That said, I do have a bit of good news to share. In the next several weeks we will be rolling out brand new message boards! And you are going to love them. They are so much more fun than what we currently have.
