We just got him today, so I'm here to introduce my newest little mystery rodent. He's not named yet (suggestions welcomed!), and we just don't know what he is. The pet store had him labeled as a dwarf hamster, and he does have the coloring of a Siberian, but he in no way has the typical body shape. He has a dorsal stripe, and a tail that is shorter than a mouse's, but longer than I've ever seen on a dwarf hamster. He also has a much longer, sleeker body with fur like a mouse's. He also has, ahem, the rather large testicles of a mouse, which I've also never seen in a hamster. Is it possible he's an oddly colored mouse? He had a brother that also looks just like him. I took him to another pet store and asked what they thought, and they told me roborovski, but that doesn't seem right either. Here are some pictures to help (sorry for the bad quality, my camera is missing so I had to take them with my phone):

Here's a frontal (and cute) view of his face:

His back, with dorsal stripe:

Side picture:

And his odd tail:

Can anyone tell me what I have here? Is he really a robo hamster?

Tiddly and Wink the Fancy Mice!

SO I'm Cameron, and my new mices' names are Tiddly (banded/even marked Lilac) and Wink (uneven Fawn). I got them today at Pet Supplies Plus along with a new bottle, a wooden get-a-way. I had everything else. I have a few questions though: I have two cats, but I also have a lid on their ten gallon aquarium. I caught my cat (who I guarentee will not kill my mice, I've had them before) sitting on top of the mesh lid. Will my mice stress-out-to-death (literally) if I let my cats near them? I can always keep the cats away, it's not a problem. Also, if I'm not home during the day, would they prefer the lights on or off above their habitat? Thanks!
Also, check out my fishchannel, catchannels and horsechannels! I have a few blogs devoted to horses and fish as well:
http://fish-boy.tumblr.com/
http://horse-boy.tumblr.com/

Hi I'm snowy and my owner

Hi my name is snowy and I'm a hottot/american rabbit, I love bok choy and rasins. She had been in an abusive home but they finally surrendered her to a local animal shelter. She is missing a leg, but no one knows what happened to it. She gets along pretty well without it, but it is slightly more difficult for her to dig or climb, and she doesn't use a wheel.

She is kept alone because we felt that with her disability and age, introducing a new younger gerbil might be more trouble than it was worth. She is socialized daily by me though!

She is learning to trust humans again. She is beginning to quit her habit of biting me, but if she meets someone she's not familiar with she is still quick to nip. I would just like to introduce them.
Rye is a large, male ferret. I don't know his actual age, but I think he's about 6-7 months old. He's a loveable lug, but also very feisty and loves to push his boundaries to the limit. Rye is a cinnamon ferret, and over 20 inches long, and I think weighing around 4-5 pounds. He's pretty laid back, but when he plays he like to play rough. He's been taught not to bite, but he does when we stop paying attention to him and he just can't resist nibbling on toes.
Sweeny is a tiny, spunky, female ferret. She's blaze ferret, with a white undercoat and black guard hairs. We purchased her with Rye, but we believe that she's a few months younger than him. At about 4-5 months old, and maybe 2 pounds at the most, Sweeny thinks she's the biggest thing in the house. She will take on anyone and anything, but is not aggressive. We have yet to find something she is afraid of. She bullies her "brother" and nags him when he's trying to sleep.
Are Degus welcome here?

I couldn't find a section for Degus?
I'm Sarah. They chew everything in sight, so are not allowed any plastic! I had guinea pigs when I was very young and had to have my female put to sleep because of an accidental poisoning. My nephew got a guinea for his 11 bday and when I go to his house the thing just adores attention. I priced them at the store and found that the set up was going to be the biggest chunk of change. I spoke to my sister inlaw and she told me that the people they got thries from had 2 more that they no longer wanted and was giving them away cage and all. I go pick them up in the morning. I am excited and nervous. I had posted on the guinea board about them acclimating to their new home. My sister inlaw thinks they are like 2 yo. I do not want them to get stressed and get sick any suggestions. I set up pages for them and wil fix them all up after they get home. The pic I uploaded is of my buddy with my nephews guinea which is related to the 2 I am getting. Also, any suggestions for a car ride?

Angie

Hello There!

Hi there! We're new here. Layla just went to the vet a couple days ago because one of her cheeks was swelling up and pushing her eye closed. The vet thinks she was bitten, very small bite marks, which we couldn't see at home. While at the vet Layla and Tod met a new friend who told us to feed Layla live culture yogurt while taking an antibiotic. She's really liked the strawberry yogurt. Two days latter her swelling has gone down, but seems to be leaking into her eye. we've been giving her warm salt water compresses as well.

that's all for know. One is a blue almost black male named Midnight who is a bully, and the other is my favorite- his name is Emperor, sometimes I call him Colors, he has a red/orange tail with black specks. I recently lost my other guppy, Sky. He died of tail rot/ starvation. (He couldn't swim up to the food because his tail was no longer of use) Well that's my pets. I have two pet ferrets called Zaphod and Trillian. I rehomed them from a rescue charity in June 2010 and they are about 1-2 years old.

Trillian is a tiny grey/silver ferret, and is female. Whenever I take her for a walk everyone always thinks she's a baby. She is a very fast ferret, and clever enough for me to start to teach her some tricks. She likes treats but is not always that bothered about them, apart from ferret vitamin paste which she loves.

Zaphod is large male albino ferret. He is very food orientated and loves nothing more than to hoard treats. I love him to bits but he is not the smartest of ferrets. He gives me hours of fun watching his clumsy behaviour, and watching him try and work things out. Trillian run rings around him and outsmarts him everyday.

I take both of them for walks on a lead and harness most days. There is a pocket park on my housing estate with a stream in it. Both ferrets love paddling in the water and digging in the mud. The longest walk I took them for was about an hour, but afterwards they still had the energy to keep playing and running around.

We all live in Northampton in England.

Introduction

Hi.

My name is Breanne. I also have a very spoiled hamster named peace. She is syrian and is picky. Her veggies must be cooked and she only eats this organic hamster food. She is getting this 30 " wide, 14" in depth, 36" tall homemade cage. I also have two female cats named Missy and Oddball. they get along great with the others with the exception of Missy being scared of Peace. The grass is always greener, the oppressive heat of the summer is a distant memory and the crowds have TaylorMade Burner Irons
thinned out.

Having spent eight of the best summers of my life working at a working man's country club in New Jersey called Glenwood, the changing of the clocks was always greeted as the last few days of school. The staff knew theTaylorMade RAC Satin TP Wedge
15-hour days of summer were in the rear-view mirror, so with dark descending around 5 p.m., even an open-to-close shift felt like a half-day. The mood amongst the members would relax.

I found that Sunday afternoons in the clubhouse were more like Thanksgiving with the family, with golf serving as the appetizer. A quick 18 in the morning, the Giants or Jets game on the big screen in the afternoon. The Taylor Made Rossa Ghost Daytona Putter
menu shifting from burgers and sandwiches to meatloaf with mashed potatoes, and split pea soup and juicy roast beef and all the sorts of things you'd expect at Mom's.

I never felt a stronger affection for my job or forTaylormade Rossa Tourismo Putter
the members than during those short, cool days when it was far less about the golf and far more about the camaraderie. As a close-knit club that's the opposite of posh, the membership was a wonderful mix of firefighters, local businessmen, a few bartenders, and enough Wall Street types just to keep it interesting. Of course there were the funny drunks who would scream at the TV and make us laugh, and the obnoxious drunks who would scream at the TV and embarrass themselves.

These days, as a rabid golfer, I see how the finalTaylorMade Rescue Hybrid 2009
weeks of the year are a final hurrah at the end of a long golf season. With somewhere around 50 rounds under my belt, I can enjoy the end of the season a bit more. I know the GHIN computer's not awaiting my scores. I've got no concerns about preparing for the next big thing, whether it be the club championship, a golf trip, or any other mini hurdle set in my mind.

In a way, autumn golf in New Jersey is like trying to diet before Christmas. What's the point?

By stripping away all the other pieces of the game, it'sTaylorMade R7 CGB Max Rescue Hybrid
back to golf as I first learned it. Hit the ball and chase it. Hit it again. Quit stressing over every bogey and triple bogey, and enjoy every birdie a bit more knowing it might be the last one of the season. With most of my fellow golfers off pumpkin picking with the kids, or at soccer practice, the courses can be empty, clearing the way for nine holes with two balls, letting them play a match against each other, or maybe a one-man better ball, or for kicks just playing a scramble by yourself.

Finally, there's something about teeing it up, wearingCleveland CG15 Satin Chrome Wedge
an extra layer, knowing it might be 55 on the first tee but it will be closer to 40 by the 18th green. But if you're thinking of packing it in, just think back to February when the greens are blanketed by snow and you'd do anything to find a few patches of grass and a temperature above freezing. Fall is the end of the year, the last crumbs of chocolate on your plate of delicious dessert. Just savor it, because you don't know if it's going to be your last taste for a painfully long time.
TaylorMade Burner Golf Ball Review

Taylormade’s slogan for the Burner ball is ‘command the tee box.’ How do they intend for you to do this? By offering a ball that can achieve maximum distance but with a soft feel. A high launch angle throughout all the clubs in your bag should increase your distance alone. Essentially, Taylormade is banking on the old adage of ‘high launch equals more distance.’ You may not experience Taylormade Burner SuperFast Driver
long distances that you’re used to seeing with your typical two piece rock but the Burner offers a nice package of feel and distance that achieves some interesting results.

Technology
The Burner is a two piece ball made with an ionomer cover. I know, I know. You hear ‘2 piece ball’ and you’re thinking it’s rock right? Not necessarily. Yes, that cover is a thicker one (.070 mm) as compared to softer, ’spinnier’ cover which usually checks (pun intended) in at .050mm but you may not notice it unless you’re used to a softer to begin with. With a compression rate of 60 and a low spin TaylorMade R9 460 Driver
ratio from <30 yards it’s not the softest of balls but it’s not a rock either. Also, the nice simple ‘Burner’ alignment aid is a welcome feature that just seems to be the right size and fits well.

Testing
The first thing I did after getting the Burner balls was head to my local range for some short game testing. On to the chipping green I go with my wedges and my test subjects but before I go on I should note that I currently useTaylormade R7 CGB MAX Driver
conforming grooves on my wedges. That being said, these balls performed better than I had expected. On chips and pitches the Burners would take a hop or two and have minimal roll out before coming to a stop. I suppose they would zip and check up immediately with the right player and maybe the right conditions but I didn’t see it yet on the practice area. However, I did notice that when I took them to the par 3 course when hitting ? to ? wedge shots these balls had a nice trajectory to them and yet still landed soft with minimal roll out. Hmmmm. Now I’m intrigued. Ah TaylorMade R9 Driver
but how did it feel coming off the old flat stick? Two piece balls typically feel like rocks coming off putters but not these. I have a putter that has a fairly firm insert and the Burners felt soft and rolled true with good distance control which I wasn’t counting on. OK now I’m pretty excited about these so it’s on to the course.

As I mentioned before, Taylormade says ‘command Taylormade R7 CGB Max Fairway Wood
the tee box’ with these balls. For a two piece ball, these felt abnormally soft coming off the driver. I was expecting a harsher feel as found with most two piece offerings but not with these. While not soft like a three or four piece ball, these were soft enough. Distance? Yep, there was some nice distance to be had when hit flush with the big stick as well as my fairway wood and hybrids.

Overall
Normally I go into a review with a completely open mindTaylormade R9 Fairway Wood
and look to be a sponge to absorb all sorts of info, data, etc. but this one I was a little biased. No particular reason why. I think the best reason I can come up with is that when I think of golf balls, Taylormade isn’t at the forefront of my brain. Truth be told I didn’t want to like this ball. I was afraid to like it because I didn’t want to have a tough decision to make when the review was finished as to whether I needed to make a switch to a different ball or not. That being said, I liked this ball. Quite a bit actually and more than I thought I would. It’s a good, solid offering that gives nice distance with versatile performance at an attractive price point. For those in search of a golf ball that offers more performance than a traditional distance ball does with out losing much of that distance then this may be a good place to start.

Graeme McDowell Signs With Srixon

Just days after learning that Srixon staff member Jim Furyk will be leaving Srixon and heading to TaylorMade, THP has confirmed with multiple sources that 2010 European Tour Co-Player of the Year Graeme McDowell has signedPING G15 Driver
TaylorMade Rac Black TP Wedge
Taylormade Rossa Siena 4 Putter
a deal with Srixon for 2011. G-Mac, as he is known, had a monster 2010 finish as he won the Chevron and beat Tiger Woods on Sunday for another championship. Already in possession of the 2010 US Open trophy, he is poised to make a huge run in 2011.

Recently THP learned that McDowell would be leaving his Callaway sponsorship in search of a different deal and that has landed him with Srixon Golf. The buzz we are hearing is that he will carry the Srixon staff bag, wear aTaylormade R9 Max Driver TYPE E
TaylorMade R9 Max driver
Srixon hat, and have a bag of clubs consisting of Srixon irons, Cleveland wedges, and of course the Srixon Z-Star golf ball that so many have been gravitating towards this year. THP reached out to Cleveland/Srixon Golf and they had no comment.

THP likes the move quite a bit for both sides. McDowell is a larger personality than that of Furyk, who many feel he is replacing as the PGA Tour face of the brand. With his image fitting rather well and the new 2011 equipment from SrixonTaylorMade R9 Super Tri Driver
looking as good as it does early on, we expect quite a year. You should expect to see a lot of G-Mac in 2011 both on the course and in promotions.

Lots of shuffling going on in the world of tour golf in the 2010 offseason and THP has all of your inside information each day.
[H e l l o] World; Introduction To Me & My Piggies

Hey there!
