Hello!

I,m new to this site,and wanted to say hello,and indroduce my pets. I have five pet rats,all female ,oldest is 9 months.My rats names are sweetheart,gracie,baby,precious,and zoe.Gracie is a rexrat,baby,zoe are dumbo,s,precious,sweetheart are fancy rats.We have been together for almost three months,so needless to say i,m still learning about rats,care of rats.I have noticed like human kids ,they have different personalities!Have noticed they are very loveing,smart,curious,and funny!Now to me i live in san diego,work as a csr tech at the naval hospital here. I have many interests besides rats,some are ghosts,reading ,tattoos,penpaling.Feel free to contact me!

Ferret lodging

My son Ryan has two sweet, smart, well-behaved ferrets, George & Bailey and he won't go to dental school without them. The problem is: George & Bailey are being delivered to Ryan in Boston by me and his girlfriend 2 days before the apartment will be available. Hotels in Boston are not accommodating for ferrets. Any ideas, anyone? We've been combing the internet for vets, clinics or boarding facilities, but no luck. HELP!

I am new to this group, but thought I’d share a special moment I hope many of you have had as well, or will in the future. I recently had a bonding experience with my step daughter and a spell of déjà vu all in one. She had wanted a hamster for a few years and as a reward for doing well in school, I decided the time was right. It had been many years since I had one, as I was about 12 (her age) when my parents bestowed upon me the privilege and responsibility of taking care of this kind of animal. When picking one out, she decided on a Syrian hamster she named Cinnamon. After coming home and putting her cage together, it was definitely one of the most nostalgic experiences I think I’ve ever had. The squeak of the little metal exercise wheel, the smell of the food and sawdust, and the sound it made when her little hammy would drink water from the bottle were all brought back after being buried in my subconscious for a long time. It was sort of like taking her to the same miniature golf course I went to as a kid and both of us ordering cherry ICEEs…another experience that sort of got lost in the fold of adulthood. I think that is one of the best parts of giving your kids the rite of passage of taking care of this little animal. Not only do you get to relive those memories, but you also have the opportunity to teach them the early stages of parenting.

I have one big interest, ferrets. I read everything i can find about them, I discuss them every time I get a chance and try to learn us much as possible.

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself.
My pets, well, I have many fish, but that's not what these boards are for. I am also planning on getting a pair of mice. I'm very excited. I just wanted some starter advice. I am aware of the disadvantages of mice, so those things I don't need to be told. I'm probably going to get 2 females and name them Foley and Avery. Any name suggestions. Thanks for all your help!

Wow awesome to see so many fellow pet owners! I am Tara and i have 14 beautiful ratties. Jellybean, Skitso, Violet, Spot, Velvet, Little blue, Wilson, Big blue, Dusty, Remy, Dipstick, Chip, Winky and Possium boy. Whew! I love them all! Dumbos, hairless... I can't imagine never having them. I have only owned them....or they own me for a year and 4 months. look forward to meeting everyone!

I am 15 years old, soon to be 16 on the 16th july.
I come from coventry, UK.
I love animals, all types, from cats and dogs, to ferrets and hamsters, to reptiles and amphibians and yes even BUGS!
I research and study within branches of zoology, including herpetology, conchology and wildlife studies.

I have 1 dog, 2 cats, 1 ferret, 1 hamster, 2 hermanns tortoises and a coldwater aquarium with 2 goldfish and 2 small danios.

Lol, no one probably even knows me but i was here like a couple of months ago.Back then i didn't have a hamster which i really wanted.After a while i got bummed out cuz all of you had your lil animal while i didn't have anything so i left for a while.

Now i'm back with my buddys Cachetes ( AKA Tokio Taters) & Pepito!!

I'll put pics later cuz right now they are only 6 months old and they won't stand still!!!

I am proudly owned by two little ferrets! I love them to pieces and am so happy that I found this website. That way I don't feel quite as crazy, because other people are just as fanatic as I am! Stinky is the blaze, or the one with the white head, and Smudge is the sable, or the dark one! I was a subscriber to Ferrets Magazine and I was thrilled that they were "going green!" I enjoyed getting Ferrets, but today I got my 1st issue of Dog Fancy that I recieve now instead.

I'm not a new ferret owner, I have 2 ferrets. Zoey, who I've had since a kit is now 3 and Gary who I just adopted who is I'm geussing 2. Zoey is quiet and reserved while Gary is more rambunctious! I love ferrets and hope to raise them throughout my life.

My name is Micala, you may call me Kayla. I've joined many ferret forums (and other forums too) but I have a hard time sticking with one. Since this one has such interesting features I'm hoping on staying. I spend alot of time on the computer...which I know isn't very good but I love it! Hello everyone! I'm so glad i found this website, its amazing! meet my bunny, Cinnamon. We're not sure what breed she is, obviously lop, we're thinking possibly holland lop but she sheds so much she may have some angora in her, so she may be a Mutt. We got her from a pet store and they said she was a dwarf lop, but she's now 8 pounds, so that doesn't work. (this is also the same pet shop who told us she was a boy. We were in for a surprise when we brought her to the vet to have her neutered!)

Hi, I was so excited to go to dogchannel today and notice and ad that said there was now a smallanimalchannel. I have two guineapigs Buttercup(We call him Bub) he's the boy and Coco she is a girl. Though we thought Buttercup was a girl when we got him (he was to young to tell) we now know he is not so though there cages are near eachother they can not be together.

Buttercup- Buttercup is very socail lol he like running around(guess you could say he is adventurous) and talks alot! He also drinks alot of water lol more then any guinea pig i ever had. He has a great personality he is just a silly and happy guinea pig he's so funny and cuddlely when i got him he was just the age limit to leave his mother i actually met him the day before and had to wait a day before getting him because that was the day he could leave his mom. He was small and fit in the palm of my hand(he is now bigger) He has a bald spot at the top of his head and it makes him look like he has eyebrows He has short hair but yet in the back it gets long i cut it every so often. Im not sure what kind of breed he is i just know hes adorable lol.

Coco- Coco is a little quieter but like Buttercup will yell when she hears a bag or the refrigerator open lol. She is active but not quite as active and social. Though she is really sweet, cuddly pretty and soft. Once again I do not know what breed she is.

I am hoping to show some pictures as soon as possible but they are on my old computer and thats computer doesn't work ll i have all my pictures on cd's and have to get to finding pic's of them and taking some really good new ones

I also have a dog Max He is a 3 year old miniature schnauzer. I love animals I have had many guineapigs and hamsters in my life and one cat and My dog Max

Peanut and Pretzel are both celebrating our birthdays this month! (04/02 & 04/30 respectively.) We will both be 2 years young. Dad says we're still kids and that we need to celebrate together all month long. Oh gosh... You know what that means. Dad's probably going to embarrass us all by dressing us up in ridiculously silly costumes with party hats and drag us to the pet store's birthday party! Humans will stop, stare, point and laugh at us. And they will ask us silly questions. They will think our Dad is really a weird nut case now. Oy vay! Might we have a COTD vote or two to cheer us up? my name is Dom and i am owned by 13 ferrets and live in their house in Ny. I have been keeping ferrets for about 5 years, my first four are store bought and the rest have found me and wanted a better life then they had. Most of my rescues come from neglected or abusive homes. My kids age range is 9 months to five+ years old, all are in good health and happy. my alpha Junior has adrenalin and will be going for surgery next week other than that he is in great shape and very active.

I hope to get to meet some new friends here and catch up on some old ones as well.

Greetings everyone! I'm new to the small critters portion of this group, but not new to the world of everything cottontails, barks and purrs.

I hope I've come to the right place to share and gain information about our newest arrival...Miss Sidney. She's now 10 weeks old and quite the silly little bunny.

She keeps the rest of her family on their toes. Which includes several dogs and cats. Yes, we're one BIG happy family.

Can't wait to get to know everyone here.

Kuma and Koyuki

We have to great Ferrets. I got Kuma a Sable, in September from pet supermarket. He was the wildest one in the store. The clerk told us that they were having a hard time selling him. We glady took him. Well he was defintly a hand full but we loved him regardless. I was shopping in petco for toys for him, when I saw there Ferrets were on sale. Well we got Koyuki, shes a polar ferret (albino). Her name means little snow flake. Kuma fell in love at first sight. They get along pretty good but Koyuki likes to be alone from time to time. My girlfriend complains that I spoil the ferrets to much. I am always buing them toys or something. Anyways as soon as I get a bigger cage im going to get a third ferret.

Noodle and Marley

I bought Noodle from a petstore. I had him for about a month and decided he wanted a friend. I put an ad on Craigslist to find him a friend. I searched for about a month and just came upon dead ends. I had one girl email me saying she had a young boy ferret that needed a home. We emailed and emailed each other and set up days to meet and see if Noodle and her ferret got along. She always had a reason to not meet. So I kinda gave up. I put another ad on CL and had people emailing me telling me to go to the local shelter to get one. I also had this sweet woman email me and tell me she had two males that she needed a home for. I gladly took them in. There names were Marley and Yuri. I had them for a night and a day. Marley is great, he's lovable, and just a fun ferret. Noodle loved him. Yuri was also sweet and oh so lovable. Yuri took a turn for the worse. I knew that some ferrets bonded really well to certain people but didnt know some could get so bonded to someone. Yuri got VERY sick. I took him to the vet and they said he just had an upset stomach. He was depressed and wanted to go back to his old home. Yuri went home and he's doing better now. He's back to eating and drinking. Marley loves me and Noodle. He's a happy, healthy ferret. I love my two boys, they are so awesome.
