it's not that it's toxic .. it doesn't have any nutritional value and is mostly water. just like the other post said .. you wanna stick with the dark leafy greens .. i like to do the 50/50 Spring Mix bag from Publix, and spinach, red leaf lettuce, swiss chard, and she LOVES dandelion greens!!

Wow, almost everything you feed your poor pet is bag for him. Spinach, Red leaf lettuce, and iceberg are horrible for pets!

I know that darker greens are considered to be more nutritious for guinea pigs. Here is an article that lists Romaine lettuce as a good fresh food to feed guinea pigs. Iceberg generally does not have the nutrients that darker greens do.

Hi, I own a Guinea Pig and I read in one of the care books that Iceburg lettuce is toxic. I am confused because why is iceburg toxic and all the other types of lettuce aren't? I do not feed him iceburg, but I want to know why this type is considered toxic.
