I'm finding that older mice seem more difficult to get used to you - she finally tolerates my "scooping" her up into my hand (though sometimes she still runs back into her cage!) but doesn't seem to like being petted much. Years ago we had young mice and they seemed easier to tame. Each mouse has his/her own unique "personality" but the best I can suggest is to be very gentle, quiet and give them their "space" - give them time to warm up to you. Best of luck if you ever get another mouse! She is amazingly strong for such a small animal, and it's something to watch! I used to have 5 pet mice, but I could never hold them. They were always scared of me. I followed every ounce of advice from TV, articles, and off of the internet to tame them, but it never worked for me. Some of my mice were young, some were older but none of them liked me! Their names were Cow, Pig, Chicken, Horse, and Houdini (long story<img align="absmiddle" src="http://board.smallanimalchannel.com/Skins/Small Animal/Images/EmotIcons/Tongue.gif" border="0" title="Tongue">). He has two of them and he will run forever in them. He also has one of those balls that can roll around the floor or be placed in a stand, which he loves as well. I don't put it on the floor to roll around very often, as I'm afraid that is probably a stressful event for him. But it's cute to watch.
