When I was younger we had hamsters. I have been very happy with mice, as they are quite active right about the time I get home from work, so I don't feel like they are too lonely during the daytime, as they are probably sleeping. One mouse was very tame and eagerly climbed into my hand when I put it in his cage. He enjoyed sitting in my palm to be petted. My other mouse is much more cautious and doesn't really like to come out of his cage. I coax him out for a few mins at a time, and hopefully he will come to enjoy it more. Mice are a lot of fun to watch, and I plan to get others in the future, but probably only one at a time, unless they are females. I had both males in one cage at the beginning and ended up having to separate them into their own cages. I would also like to get a dwarf hamster one day.

Multiple types of pets

Have you owned several types of small animal pets?
