It just amuses them so much! When they get the bell out, I put a treat in the hole and then they have to roll it around until it falls out They also love to shread dog tug-a-war toys, like the rope ones. I found mini ones (like 4 inches) on sale for 10 cents because they were from Christmas! There were red ones and there were green ones so we got a bunch of each! XD They just love to shread them up to add to there beds!

RE: My ratties toys

My rats had a dangling toy called a Critter Ka-bob that you could place chew sticks or food items on. I would often bore through the center of a carrot and watch them gnaw at it without it rolling around & getting dirty on the floor. They mostly ignored wooden chew sticks, but I found that they really enjoyed Lava Bites, pumice blocks made for chinchillas to chew on.

RE: My ratties toys

Lol, yeah my rats are the same way. They like the little cat balls with the bells inside. crystal light containers make great tunnels to hang on the cage with zip ties. Baskets to sleep in and chew, boxes of all sizes to run thru, hide in. they also enjoy an empty lemonade container filled with balled up newspaper, shredded paper, paper towels, all with treats inside. yogurt drops, teddy grahams, peas, dog biscuts, and grapes. They never know what they will find in their treasure hunt!
