How did you manage to care for your pets while being sick?

Same way people cope with kids, you rest when you can, take meds when you can, and pretty much get on with it.

Are you afraid that you might get your animals sick?

I don't know about degus, but you can spread the flu to ferrets. Was your hands a lot and try not to spread it to your ferrets. Also don't sneeze on or around your ferrets if you can help it. I'm planning to get ferrets! Can't wait!

it depends what illness it is. Degus can't catch many of the illnesses we have, and there aren't many illnesses that can spread from species to species, I think they can catch colds though.
