| So look what apollo did to the ferret's cages!!! LUCKILY they were in their playroom at the time and NOT in the cages. I know that apollo wouldn't ever hurt the fuzzies but he could have indirectly KILLED one of them by doing this to the cage! Let me explain that white wire cage with the green base was actually sitting UNDERNEATH that sterillite tub you see in the background. That black tube that is protruding into the air is supposed to connect to the sterillite tub. I have NO CLUE how he did this but if my babies were in the cage at the time they would have been killed, not by Apollo, but by the cage collapsing.

- Hey G,
- Glad the fuzzies weren't involved. Don't know if the pooch would have done it if they were in there. Maybe not. Anyway it's good that they weren't. Being a Dog person (sans dog for now),I can tell you this... as far as mayhem and destruction... think of it like a 60 lb.+ ferret[:O]!!! They are just as smart, although ferts seem to be a bit more determined at times. Could give you some horror stories, but Im late for work, so maybe I'll post the best "wolves gone wild" story later. Kodi (wolf hybrid) was a HANDFUL (RIP)!!!

- Gotta go... Later, Matt

| That's what I was thinking, Matt. He's NEVER done anything to the cages WHILE the fuzzies were in there. I think he was throwing a temper-tantrum while Sam and I were eating dinner and the fuzzies were out romping safe and sound, blocked into our bedroom. He probably wanted to play with the fuzzies and did that to their cages to get my attention. Either that or the cats did it and they "framed" the dog lol![:O]Luckily all were ok. Today I am putting him in the laundry room while we are at work. We TRIED crate training him (for both chewing and housebreaking) but he kept peeing on himself in the crate and he'd be sitting in urine ALL DAY long. But now that he is housebroken, maybe we can crate him for his chewing and he won't pee on himself. Im worried about putting him in the laundry room cuz I think he might chew up the door or something. I don't really have a choice though.

Man... I think Apollo needs more outside time or somthing.. My aunt had a husky that would ransack the house when it couldnt get outside to let out its energy. maybe thats his problem, hes not getting enough time or space to run out his energy. I think if you guys move you might want to put "big backyard" in the list of things that house needs to have.

Do you think that there might be a bit of jealousy between the dog and the ferts? I just found out that my Cat Poofball is jealous of all the fert attention and she has been making herself a pain just to gain attention. Hope you figure out why he might have done this to the fuzzy cage. It sounds like overall he is a sweet dog and its good that this wasnt done out of aggression. Glad that the fuzzies were safe though.

I hope we can find a place with a yard. I just don't get it. apollo goes out on 5 different walks each day! and on weekends we go hiking in the mountains. The last couple that had him said that they DID put him in their yard but he was unhappy and chewed their expensive landscaping to shreds! So while it sounds like a good idea, looks like outside time may not be the key to stopping this behavior.

| Geez.. sorry to say monkeypooh I think apollo has issues...Maybe it would help to talk to a pet behavior consultant.. Never done that don't know if and how it works.. but it might be helpful.... It's instinctive for dogs to keep their den clean so.. apollo peeing and laying in his urine while in the crate....doesn't sound right.. unless of course previous owners were not taking him out when in need to pee so he'd end up doing it in the crate.. which in this case.. burns out the instinct.... Sigh.. good thing the fuzzies are safe...it's good to believe that he wouldn't do anything had they been inside the cage but....there's always the worst case scenario... I know Ouzo LLLLLOVES my fuzzies but he'd still step on them or pounce them... I know he doesn't want to hurt them and that he's just being a clumsy silly pup.. but that has made me limit their interaction time....a lot.... By the way I want to apologize guys for not being around as much.. Darklight has a wedding to plan and lol I have to plan for my new baby to come (October 28 is the estimated due date) Yes! This time a human baby!!! Too many appointments and scheduling and commotions.. soon I guess I'll have to start classes... (the breathing thing???? lol) All that stuff take up too much time and energy....I don't wanna think how am I going to combine a baby, the fuzzies and the dogs.. but I'm sure I'll find a way... sigh.. hopefully without compromising my attention to the fuzzies... and/or the dogs....
