I saw this post on another board (Everything ferret) and LOVED looking at everyone's cage setups. So I was curious to see what your guy's cages looked like.

To help out any newbies answer the following questions in addition to posting pics of your cage setup:

1.) how much was it?
2.) where'd you get it?
3.)How easy is it to clean?
4.) are the doors big enough for a square litter box to fit through?
5.)what are its measurments?
6.)how many ferrets can you fit in it?
7.) what is the name or brand of your cage?
8.) Do you regret getting this cage? If so which cage did you wish you bought.

I'll post pics of my cage and answer the questions above as soon as I get home. In the meantime feel free to show us your ferret's home!

1) How much was it?
$150 (not including the remote litter box parts)

2. Where did you get it?
Cage= petsmart, remote litterbox=home depot

3. How easy is it to clean?
Kind of a pain to take the shelves out and scrub them, but the remote litter box ups the cleaning ease.

4.) Are the doors big enough for a square litterbox to fit through?
Nope. Thats why I made the remote litter box tub

5.) What are its measurements?
Dunno

6.) What is the name or brand of your cage?
Super pet multi-floor ferret home

7.) How many ferrets fit?
Because there is no litterbox taking up space, I'd say 6. Without the remote litter box I'd say 5 maximum

1.) how much was it?
we paid about $215 including the shipping/handling
2.) where'd you get it?
At the ebay store called Ferret Town
3.)How easy is it to clean?
Very, I can climb inside of the cage myself to do the cleaning. everything is either plastic or coated metal, so its all easy to wash off
4.) are the doors big enough for a square litter box to fit through?
If I can fit through the door, then yes, a litter pan can
5.)what are its measurments?
lol... Uuh, like 5ft tall by about 35inches deep by about 60inches across the front
6.)how many ferrets can you fit in it?
its rated for 10 ferrets, so I have 5 living in it comfortably
7.) what is the name or brand of your cage?
its a Prevue Corner Deluxe
8.) Do you regret getting this cage? If so which cage did you wish you bought.
Haa lol.. the only person who regrets letting me have this cage is mike because I messured it to be big enough to fit in the pantry and when it got here it was a tad too big so was forced to be kept in the bedroom. I though love it to death

And now- onto the pictures!

the cage is too big to fit in the screen of the camera from the compy desk (im sitting 6 ft from it).. thats Titus in the bottom bed. The cage is baseball diamond shaped, it was suposed to be a space saver idea, but yeah.. that didnt go so well as planned. with 5 ferrets living in there theres 2 litter pans in the bottom and 3 water bottles spread through out the cage. All the bedding seen in there was hand made by me (except the ball shapped one)

she thinks shes queen of the castle.. thats little Aphrodite, probly sitting on Titus's head to see what im doing and wondering if im gonna let her out to play.. God do i need to clean that cage... Oh and if you dont see a food dish, look into the bottom left corner of the picture right above this text. its that green corner litter pan. with 5 mouths to feed they get a troath, not a bowl. and even thats not big enough sometimes.

Hehe I love the litter box food bowl! Sometimes I feel like I'm feeding an army. Luckily my kiddos eat less since switching to natural. My kids eat their food on the floor of their cage. Unless i'm feeding egg yolk or something like that. But I was thinking of making a feeding thingy for them that was bigger (when I was still feeding kibble) cuz everyone fought over the tiny food bowl lol.

Thanks for sharing, Darklight. BTW I LOVE your bedding.

its just cheaper to make the bedding.. and with the size I need for the cage, its easier. I could go pay $25 for a silly marshal hammock that would fit 2 of them, or I can spend $25 on a pile of fabric and make 3 beds that will fit all 5 of them. I also make bedding for Damon's ferrets (wranglo, thor and nibbles)..

Here's Izzy's Crib!!! (and Brut's twin cage to the left) We had Brutus in a smaller temp cage, but with them not getting along, we decided to get him the same cage. Maybe SOMEDAY we can either put them together in one OR make an opening between them. We'll see.
Anyway... Cage is made by Precision. We got it at a local pet store (where we got Iz). Dimensions are: 40in. x 20in. x 24in. high. It has 2 sliding doors in front, and a 14 x 12 top hatch. The cage lifts right off the plastic tray/bottom. Great for cleaning!!! Could probably house 3 comfortably. You can see Iz sleepily poking her head out of her "hut".

Here's a close up!!! Look at the Pooh in the corner[]!!!

Later, Matt and Kristi (Iz & Brut)

PS - Cage was around $100 and came w/casters (wheels).
