| I will miss the paper format. As I asked on our FML...How am I supposed to take it to the Vets office, dentist or dr.s office or the airport and read it while I have a little bit of wait time? That's when I usually have time to read it. I refuse to carry a lap top everywhere I go, I already spend too much time working on my PC. My PC does not reach my easy chair and if it did it would not be an easy chair any longer. I am very dissapointed. I will not have time for an online version. I run a shelter and I am very busy. What a sad day for us all. [xx(]

| Thanks for your question, Kesrael. Critters USA and Ferrets USA will still be published. Both of these magazines are annuals. Critters USA usually reaches stores in late August/early September and Ferrets USA reaches stores in late November/early December. As annuals, a subscription to them isn't possible, which is why they couldn't be offered as one of the alternative magazines for the Ferrets subscription. In a poll Ferrets magazine ran a few years ago, ferret owners who had other types of pets most often owned a dog or cat.

shortly after my last post i recieved an e-mail telling me that I could call the number back and request my refund. Well, when I got home, my little note was in the mail, so I called and got my refund. TOO weird!

Such a big change!
Of course being online is an amazing resource, but there's something to be said for hard copies... even if it was only quarterly. You've got a lot of other online resources to "compete" with, many already robust and established, yet little to no other publications.
I'm going miss "The Ferrets Side" at the end of every issue!

This is truly a sad day for the ferret community...
There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said, except to express my heartfelt protest to this half-baked idea.
It's a shame that in the end its not about ferrets at all, but the bottom-line.
Oh and why are at least TWO subscription postcards included in the "last issue"? Is that for people who may skim through and may have skipped the Editors Note mentioning all this mess? nice one.....

Its a shame if it was not for the magazine I would not be the proud owner of 13 ferrets. I was at my local pet store and picked up a copy and got hooked. I read a few more issues and then got my first ferret. What about the people who do not have a computer or web access did the "powers to be" stop to think about them? The coordinators and the staff of this site better do a lot of homework because the inactivity on this site is probably going to roll over to the new site. You need to have people skills and ferret knowledge to keep the members well informed and happy, not the pre written corporate answer to questions. I just wonder how many of the staff members here do actually own ferrets. The lack of responses from the staff here in the health and diet sections is appalling. the staff are the ones who are supposed to run the show here and if you don't respond to the members questions or at least provide a link where they can get there questions answered. If they have a hard copy of past articles in a box in their closet they just might find the answer to their questions. IMHO the new site will be a ghost town, and the site will no longer be cost effective and ferret magazine will be a thing of the past...just a shame.

| Wow, guess I'm going to be the only one who thinks this is a great idea. I have wished for quite a while that all of the articles were available online, and would have canceled my print subscription years ago if they were! One suggestion: archive every article you publish on here, so that it's quick and easy to pull up information later on. I often find myself going back to previous issues to find a piece of info, so don't assume that after the information has been published/read once that it's usefulness is over. Also, I know it would be a lot of work, but is it possible to add the older, printed articles to the site as well? It wouldn't have to be all at once, but there is some very useful information in the old issues, and a number of ferret owners could benefit from having it conveniently on hand. Congrats on the change, I'm looking forward to seeing the new site!

| ok i can understand both sides of this argument but come on ... cost 2 print a magazine every other month?? a magazine without excessive amounts of pages?? as stated loyal fans WOULD HAVE BEEN WILLING 2 FOOT A HIGHER BILL 4 OUR BELOVED MAGAZINE!! where are our TANGILBLE ferret centerfold posters now?? and the manner in which the news was broke was less than personable, compasionate, OR PROFESSIONAL!! THE MAGAZINE OFFERED a way 4 exposure 2 ferrets 2 occur 4 even those who NEVER WOULD LOOK ON A FERRET WEBSITE...PEOPLE SEE THE PHOTOS LIKE "oh i never knew a ferret could or would do that" or "oh they are actually kind of cute i never realized..." ETC ETC... AT LEAST THE WEBSITE IS HERE ON A BRIGHTER NOTE!!!
