| My ferret Moe's, right inner ear is covered in scabs. I just noticed this today. At first I thought it was dirty, but after checking him out, it is a scab. Is this from playing rough or some kind of skin issue? My other ferret looks fine. I plan on taking him to the vet, but today is Sunday so I'll have to wait till tomorrow for appt.

Ferrets are prone to dirty ears. Is is possible that your baby may have ear mites? Ear mites are high contagious and can spread fast. That's the only thing I can come up with.

It's quite possible it's ear mites like fuzzie23 said. Also, you're ferret could have an ear infection and has been scratching at it. Mites can make them scratch at their ears to. Let us know what you find out.[ ]

| Went to the vet today, the vet had a look and took a sample to check and no ear mites, but the vet said he had a bacterial infection. She said it sure looked like ear mites, but could not find any, but he got medicine for mites just in case and then medicine for the infection. So he should be fine.
