Well I figured this would be something good to post!

I am currently battling 2 things with my Holland Lop, Jill, Hairballs and GI Stasis. I got Jill on tuesday and its now the following monday and she has eaten very little since arriving. Well the first few days everybody put it off on stress from the move and from becoming a house bunny. On thursday she ate a slice of an apple and a little bite or two of her carrot and that was it, yet she was drinking fine and had pooped a little (Not much though). By friday she was not pooping at all, and still had not touched her food, needless to say I was getting more worried. I began giving her pineapple Juice on saturday and on Sunday she started nibbling a couple pellets(again not much at all) but still no poops. So Sunday I was still doing the pineapple Juice and giving tummy massages every so often (gently so it didnt cause harm instead of good) but still she wasnt eating, again we offered apples since she had shown interst prior to them and she did eat a good amount of that along with a few pellets.

So today she finally pooped a little bit, and we were told to give her canned pumpkin and infant gas-x by the vet. But since she has pooped a bit we just did the gas-x to see if that helps at all and if she doesnt eat more by tonight we will then do the pumpkin. We also added flax seed, oats, split peas and a few other items to her food bowl.

AND LOTS OF PARROTS! 28 to be exact!

that is really sad. but i would think oats would add negatively to the issue. it is good to solidify diarrhea in rats so i think it'd block her more. poor thing, i hope the gas x helps her. what about critical care?

Yeah im not sure, the vet said to add it to her diet, maybe with the flax seed it balances out or something. But she is doing much better! Just need to pick her weight up now!

I think pineapples have an enzyme that helps break down hair balls. I'm not shure.
