Bunnicula Books Bolster Rabbit Character's Fame Author James Howe's Bunnicula book series attracts more than just small animal fans. By Angela PhamWhen author James Howe needed a vampire character for the new book he was writing, he imagined a character not clothed in a black cape, but covered in white and black fur. Not a strapping, pale human with a voracious taste for blood, but a tiny, fluffy bunny with an appetite for the juice of vegetables. A bunny found not in a coffin, but rather in a shoebox. The name of this ironic vampire rabbit? Bunnicula. Read the rest of the article, click here. Did you read Bunnicula when you were younger? Did you enjoy the book? What are some of your favorite books that have critters in the leading role?

I loved reading Bunnicula, in fact I still do!!! Don't laugh at me-- I am only ten. I loved HOWLIDAY INN, one of the sequels, i forgot. Is it the third in the series?
Anyway, i also love the book WATERSHIP DOWN. have any read about that? It's about the rabbits who leave their warren because it is in danger and look for a new home. They find a down, which they make a nice warren, complete with the Honeycomb, their "hangout" or gathering place for all the bunnies. They are all male, so think their warren will be over unless they get some does. WIth does, they can have children and their warren will be bigger. They take away two does, who are in fact pets and are unaccustomed to the wild. Now, it's a good book, and there is a sequel, too! Now, please read it.

Oh I love Watership Down. It was sad in the end where Hazel dies but he lived a long time, much longer than most rabbits.
I also like "Stories Rabbits Tell" and "Touched by a rabbit", even though it made me cry and now I'm scared for life one of these things will happen to my rabbits.
Come visit my bunnies!
