| I'm so confused. I thought before that a rabbit needs a SOLID bottom cage. But I read a book about rabbit raising, and it said the cage must be wire for the droppings to go out. I asked a good rabbit raiser, and she said it MUSt be a wire floor. But isn't solid bottom good? It wouldn't hurt the feet. I know because I asked an experienced rabbit person. The rabbit people say that a solid is good, because the bunny would just use the litter box. Which is better??

If it is a pet bunny you could get away with a solid floor and use a litter box..... but if you are showing and have LOTS of bunnies(like my friend who has 52) you should use a wire with 1/2 x 1/4" slots with a drop pan. sorry if i'm confusing you.
Chill'n with my dog Rocky, my rabbits belle, ulitmate, ruby, spazz and m'n'm! spazz and m'n'm are rubys babies, and my parakeet Lily.

| Thanks! But I was thinking that I should keep the wire floor until the bunny is perfectly litter trained. Then I'd get a piece of wood or something, like for your Netherlands.

| My rabbit cage has a wire floor on it already. Would it be ok if I put a carpet square over the entire floor and still put a litter box?
