Well, with a hamster, you may want to buy this kind of bedding: http://www.petco.com/product/10791/Carefresh-Ultra-Pet-Bedding.aspx?CoreCat=HamsterHPBeddingLitter
But, if you have to get wood bedding, don't get cedar. It causes lung conditions with hamsters. If you got a dwarf hamster, get food that's for dwarf hamsters. Which means, it has little to no corn. Make sure you get a small water bottle, and a wheel that is your hamster's size. You may want to provide soft bed fluff for him/her to nest.

Is there a specific issue that you need info on? SmallAnimalChannel.com has a lot of great hamster articles. Just click on the logo above and search for the Hamster page on the left hand navigation bar.

I'm going to ask you a simple question, Why did you get a hamster in the first place unless you knew how to care for it?
Other than that what you should do is (I'm going to give you the most basic info first the rest you can research)
Refill your hamsters bowl once a week or when needed like when it's empty or when it's dirty.
Refill and Clean the water bottle with warm water (NO soap) When needed
Clean the cage on a weekly basis.
That's it. I know this topic was posted months ago but if you still need the info this is it.

| Buy a good quality book from a pet store, do online research, and learn how to set up your new hamster's home.
