ummm... this might be a stupid question... but is it bad if a hamster fell 2 feet to the floor, landed on its back, and lay still for a minute then was twitching like it was dying, but then got up and started running around?

I would definitely keep an eye on your hamster. Call you vet and see if you should bring him in. Small animals like hamster not only hide illness well, but there is always the possibility of internal damage that you can see.
