| ...because I'm not allowed to have a pet and really need some outside sources to help convince the rest of my household. Rats are awesome and intelligent, and sweet, yet I simply cannot seem to be able to convince the people I live with to allow me to get one.. any ideas on convincing tactics?

| Do lots of research! I would highly suggest ratguide.com, ratcare.org, and goosemoose.com. Save up money for the cage (about $100), start up supplies (about $100) and a vet fund (at least $100 per rat). Make sure you have a good rat vet in your area. Do lots of chores around the house without being told.

| remember that you should get two rats of the same gender. Rats are social creatures that need a same gender friend to truly thrive and live happy.

| oh! and you may look to see if there is a rat rescue in your area. With a rat rescue you can look into possibly fostering a pair of rats and if your room mates still refuse such little cuties you could have helped the rescue out for a short time. However, if you do win over the household you can adopt the lil ones and be saving a couple of lil lives by providing them a second chance at a forever home.

I got my rats from a small pet store. They we're feeder rats, so I don't know what breed they are. They weren't that expensive. I also bought this cage called 'my first cage.' that came with everything i need except food and bedding.
My Pets! 2 Dutch Rabbits- Oreo and Oddball 2 Dogs- Jenna (Lab) Zoe (minatur snowzer) 2 pigmy goats- Duece and Donkey 12 chickens (veres breeds) (Only a few have a name)- Crooked Beak, Cider, Blacky, Mist, Hawk, and Fawkes. 1 mouse- Chocolet chip 3 Mascove ducks (don't have names till we know their genders)-

I need to convince my mom to let me get rats a second time. (she was never a big rat fan) I love them and know everything there is to know about them. They are my obsession and I miss them so much, what can I do?! She is the most stubborn person in the world and wont even let me go to school and ive been begging since i was seven. I think I will go crazy If I can't snuggle a rat soon. I used to have four of them that i was constantly cuddling.
