| This is my first hedgehog, he's 9 1/2 weeks old and I know that he is probably quilling, but his skin has been dry and itchy for the past couple of days along with some quill loss (10-15 quills). I can see the new quills coming in and I don't see any signs of fleas or mites, so I was wondering if the skin being dry/itchy was normal during quilling, and whether a bath or warm soak may help, or if it would make it worse. I was also wondering if there were any tips for litter training, he does use his litter pan, but only 50-60% of the time. Finally, what are some of your opinions on neutering hedgies, I only have one and don't plan to have more than one at any time, but I wondered if there were health benefits similar to those in dogs when neutered. Thank you in advance for any information.

Your hedgehog is fine it is just having a bit of dry skin. The next time you bathe you hedgie try using a moistrising baby shampoo. Also for his litter box plant some of his poops in the box he should get the message thats his potty. Finally its really dosent matter if you neuter him but it is a good option which ever you think is best.
