My 11 yo daughter picked out a guinea pig April 13. We were told he was appr. a little over 2 months old. She loved him. Fed him. Played with him. Her and her friend built him a wooden box with carpet in it so she could go out with him. Anyway, last night he was not acting right. Not wanting to walk, his back legs out to the sides. Head down, breathing funny. I prepared her when she went to bed that he may not make it. This morning, he was gone. RIP JB/Buddy.

It is always hard for a child to lose a pet. I would make sure she didn't think it was her fault because at her age my friend and I caught a house mouse and put it in an aquarium. It lives for four months then died, and I thought I'd killed it. I felt terrible. I hope this helps you and your daughter.
Money CAN buy happiness, it can buy SMALL PETS!

I know how she feels,I'm 12 years old and my Hamster Lillian died about a month ago.I was sad when she died, really sad,but i just remembered that she didn't suffer and that she was in a better place. My friends also gave me lots of support,so they helped alot.Just remember that your guinea pig is problably happy in heaven.
Whoever said money couldn't buy happiness, has never been in a pet store!
